Vorbis dev - Aug 2003 - Vorbis encoder?

I have been looking at Vorbis support material for the past few days and 
have found no helpful reference to encoding Vorbis files. I found a diagram 
( http://stoffke.port5.com/en_block/block_en.html ) and a document titled 
"Vorbis illuminated" but they disagree on the flow of the encoder. Is
the
diagram accurate or should I believe the (difficult to read) vorbis 
illuminated?

My apologies if there is information right under my nose on the Vorbis 
website. I think it will help developers to get into the code if there is a 
high-level-flow explanation available.

Once again, if I have jumped to the wrong conclusion I apologise for 
wasting your time. Can you point me at the material so I can proceed with 
some design decisions.

Hi!

I am pretty sure, that there is no generic documentation for a vorbis 
encoder available and also no high level documentation of the reference 
implementation.

The reason is, that there is obviously no "correct" way to implement 
an encoder, but the goal for the encoder should be to produce a conforming 
bit-stream with as good quality in respect to the bitrate as possible.
How you decide to do this is up to you.
