Some scratches with beta3
Hi, I have included the oggvorbis encoding and playback stuff in the Linux-Mandrake distro back in August 2000. At that time I put the "nightly CVS" version, which worked just fine. Then on Mon Nov 27 I noticed some RPM's labelled "1.0beta3" on the website so I upgraded with these ones. Since then we have...

Problems with pyvorbis python bindings.
[Sorry if this is a duplicate post. My original didn't appear to have gotten through.] I had previously installed libao, libogg, libvorbis, and vorbis-tools, as linked from the RC3 download page at vorbis.com -- I downloaded and installed the latest versions of these four libraries from the vorbis.com download page, at which point my pyogg/pyvorbis Python bindings broke. I reinstalled the latest version of pyao, pyogg, and pyvorbis,...

audio/vorbis media type registration
This is the first draft of the audio/vorbis media registration form to be handled to the IANA. PLEASE comment extensively, even minor spelling mistakes etc are to be stamped out of this I hope. A media type for application/ogg (or should it be application/oggsquish?) will be created separately. I would be very happy if someone could suppl...

#include scheme in vorbis project
I'm trying to implement vorbis into our game engine as a substitute to mp3 and wma encoding. And I have some questions/suggestions in how #includes are done in vorbis. Right now ogg and vorbis stuff relies on ogg and vorbis include paths being in global (or local) include path environment. This could easily be avoided by usin...

Vorbis newbie questions
Greetings: I'm writing an article for the O'Reilly Network, and the focus is on streaming audio with Linux. I would like to include material concerning Vorbis, but I need some information: 1) What's up with www.vorbis.com and www.icecast.org ? Can anyone say when they'll be back on-line ? 2) Where should I go to get the latest Vorbis sources ? 3) What players, encoders, etc currently support Vorbis ? 4) What extra software ex...

vorbis won't compile as a Framework
When I tried to compile the vorbis module as a Framework, using ProjectBuilder, I got 1058 warnings (excess elements in scalar initializer, near initialization for ''psy_set0.toneatt', 'vorbis_ftoi' defined but not used, unused variable 'k', braces around scalar initializer, and so on) and 65 errors....

explicit header deps: patch
...very small header patches to make header dependencies less visible. If other developers would like to use cxref to produce cross-referenced html source, I can post a Makefile to do this. Sorry about not being able to send it as an attachment. You can also get it at http://216.164.32.243/~kruus/vorbis/ for now, but my net connection is slow. 'cxref' suits my purposes, and perhaps yours, but if there is interest (and a web site) I would consider setting up a more 'serious' web-centric source-code browser like lxr. Please consider adding this to the CVS tree. cxref.patch:...

Updated Vorbis RTP I-D
Hi all, Apologies in advance, this email is quite long. I've prepared an updated Vorbis RTP Internet Draft, which is a continuation of draft-moffitt-vorbis-rtp-00.txt which can be found below. If this new draft gets the ok I'd like to submit this to the AVT WG later this week. There are a number of changes over the original I-D, notably the changing of the M bit function in the...

Vorbis decoder sample code
Hi, I'm a Pocket PC developer and have created a audio translator application on this platform. I currently make use of an MP3 decoder engine, but due to heavy licensing fees I'm thinking of switching over to a patent free format. Vorbis presents the best approach. I read that tremor decoder has been especially optimized for embedded devices. I'd like to make use of this and incorporate Vorbis decoder within my application. In my app I just want to decode the encoded files, and play them OutLoud. But I don't know where...

Vorbis licensing...
We spent a little time here taking a look at the Vorbis licensing scheme and ran into some possible issues. In particular, the Vorbis FAQ page here says that the LGPL license applies to Vorbis libraries and GPL applies to source code (at least that's what I gather). http://www.vorbis.com/faq.html#flic http://www.fsf.org/copyleft...
