[vorbis] mp3PRO encoder/decoder demo available
If anyone is interested, mp3PRO demo is available on Coding Technologies web site: http://www.codingtechnologies.de/ Demo is a Win32 encoder/player, and it is limited to 64kbps only. I did a quick test, and it really sounds good at 64kbps (but not as good as 128kbps - we all know that was hype). SBR (Spectral Band Replication) seems to be working pretty well. Of course SBR is only used if you play those files using a mp3PRO decoder. When mp3PRO files are played using an ordinary mp3 player, it will sound much worse. --- Aleksandar @ Vorbis Xtreme | http://solair.eunet.yu/~aldov Ogg Vorbis is the free, open source alternative to MP3 --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Same thing goes for companies that make players. Do the Vorbis developers plan to make any kind of announcement soon? I can volunteer time and experience with web marketing, if it helps. Are there any binaries of post beta 4 for Win available anywhere on the net? Does anybody compile daily or weekly? I'd like to test them.
