R devel - Aug 2008 - can't start the R program (PR#12525)

Version: R-2.7.1-win32.exe
OS: Windows XP SP2

R-2.7.1-win32.exe and R-2.7.0-win32.exe version can be installed but can't
start
the program(with error message). So I installed R-2.6.2-win32.exe. It functions
well. I've read FAQ, but I can't find the informations about such
problem.

Are you working in a Korean locale?  If so, this is the same as 11903 and 
11974 and see

for two workarounds.  It is (reported to be) fixed in R-patched already.

Unhelpfully, you didn't tell us what the error message was.

It is not frequent: it affects some (but not all) systems set to Korean.
