Hi all,
Now that it looks like we have some kind of process to manage
tickets, I need people to help me with that process.
There are currently something like 117 open tickets, and there are
about 6 different dimensions on which these tickets can be
categorized (e.g., complexity, triage stage -- all the report times
listed on the Reports page).
My plan is to work my fingers raw going through each of the tickets
and categorizing them (or marking them as not needing this category)
ASAP, but I would sure like some help. In particular, I''d love it if
one or more people would be willing to regularly help manage the
influx of tickets. To get an example of what I''m talking about, take
a look at django''s Triage page:
http://www.djangoproject.com/documentation/contributing/#ticket-triage
I don''t have such a document yet, but I''ve copied their triage
fields
and added quite a few of my own fields.
In particular, I''ve got fields for specifications, because (as Jeff
McCune recommended) I want to be able to put all development projects
in here, and many of them will require complete specifications,
because they''re more project than ticket.
I also expect that the queries I have set up aren''t really
sufficient. You can get access to the old reports here:
https://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/reports
Also, note that once you''ve selected a ticket within a query, you get
little links in the context nav bar (the smaller bar, on the left)
that allow you to select the next and previous ticket in a given
query. Very useful for walking through all tickets that result from
a query.
Thanks,
Luke
