Django 1.5 Upgrade
Anyone here using django on centos.
On my Mac, running python 2.7, I upgraded from 1.4 to 1.5 by doing this:
rm -rf /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/django
Followed by python setup.py install in the dir I untar-ed Django-1.5.1 to.
This all worked fine.
On a Centos system running python 2.6 I did:
rm -rf /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django followed by the
setup.py install. My django app

Still need help with ticket triage
As everyone probably realizes, I''m getting swamped with incoming
problems and tickets and I still need help triaging the tickets.
James Turnbull has volunteered to help some, but I think we need more
than one person. We''ve had a few people step in once or twice, but
I''d like to be able to depend on Unreviewed tickets getting handled
by someone else, rather

Puppet Community Metrics
Last month, we started publicly posting monthly community metrics
reports with all kinds of interesting information about the Puppet
Community. I also realized that I did a couple of blog posts about
this, but I had not posted it here on the mailing list for your
reading pleasure. The latest version of the metrics can be found here:

Samba management using python/django?
Hi,
I`ve searched the net looking for a way to synchronize users in a
django-based web project ( www.djangoproject.com ) with samba users. I
want all registered django users to have access to a user-specific
password protected share and I want to maintain the users using
django`s built-in user management.
My question is easy; can I add/edit/delete samba users, samba shares, set samba
passwords

RFC: Building a Development Process
Hi all,
I''m trying to work more on the development page[1], and I''m having
some trouble. It''s not really with the page per se, but rather with
trying to get a handle on Puppet''s development process.
Currently, my development work has focused on generally short-term
goals: Fixing known bugs, providing features that clients have paid
for, or providing

Model CRUD via web services
Hello,
I was wondering if there was any automated (may be scaffolding) way of
exposing Model CRUD via web services.
I found this ticket for django, but nothing for Rails.
http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/115
Thanks in advance for your opinions and suggestions.
Regards.

Help: I need community delegates
Hi all,
I''m very happy to see how quickly the Puppet community is growing and
how pleasant and helpful everyone is. It seems like people are
starting to handle a lot of the questions on the email lists and IRC,
which is great because it means I can focus more on development and
planning.
There are a few areas that don''t seem to be meeting the community
needs, though,

Modules and the file server
Hi,
I''m starting to move over to Modules, which looks pretty clean and solid.
Reading http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ModuleOrganisation,
one thing that confuses me is how the client resolves the implicit file
server resources.
I''ve got a few different puppet master servers running on different
ports, and my configuration re-defines $puppet_master_host and

[cfe-dev] RFC: Switching from Bugzilla to Github Issues
My only concern is the ability to get auto-subscribed onto issues for
specific tools (i.e. the setup I currently have). If that can be resolved
in a satisfactory manner, then I'm all for this (although less than two
weeks seems like a rather ambitious time to switch over...). If it can't,
then I'd be opposed to switching at all.

[cfe-dev] RFC: Switching from Bugzilla to Github Issues
Would it make sense to wait until 10.0.0 is released, in order to keep all
the blockers in one place?

Announcing stdlib 3.0.0
Hello,
We''re pleased to announce the release of the stdlib module at version 3.0.0
[1]. This major release drops compatibility with Puppet 2.6 and preserves
compatibility with Puppet 2.7. The 2.x series will persist for
compatibility and bugfix releases for Puppet 2.6. New features intended to
work with Puppet 2.6 may be included into a future stdlib 2.5 release, as
there are still

auth-worker temporary failures causing lmtp 500 rejection
Hi there,
I'm using dovecot 2.0.16 with a mysql user database. From time to time
when we have a big influx of messages (perhaps more than 30 concurrent
rcpt to:<> sessions at the same time so no auth-workers free?) or when
we have a transient issue connecting to the database server, we see the
message:
Jan 25 16:38:23 mailbox dovecot: auth-worker: sql(foo at bar.com,1.2.3.4):

[Bridge] Bridging a wireless/wired LAN and a PPPoE connection
Hi all,
I'm trying out bridging for my wireless and wired LAN, so that they can
both use my PPPoE connection. Here's the network structure, pretty easy:

(mtu 1500) (mtu 1500)
