[CentOS] Problem with RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet
Hi guys; I'm having a problem with a new pc that has an Realtec ethernet device. Don't know why the driver is not loading and is not detected during installation process. I tried to load r8169.ko unsuccessfully. It load but no device is detected. No dmesg or /var/log/message. ?Any help on how I can configure correctly this ethernet device? We've got it running by using the 'r1000' driver, which seems to be Realteks own driver. I'll be happy to make the archive we have (v1.05) available to you if you don't find a more recent version on your own. No dmesg or /var/log/message.On my (older) Gigabyte board with a Realtek 8169 chip I see this in "lspci -v": 01:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. I don't have any gigabit networking in the house, but it works fine (and always has) at 10 or 100 (I've done both, currently 100). BTW, I'm using Centos 5 fully updated.> > ?Any help on how I can configure correctly this ethernet device? > > This are the data that I have: > > # lspci > 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller > Hub (rev 02) > 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated > Graphics Controller (rev 02) > 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High > Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) > 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI > Controller #1 (rev 01) > 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI > Controller #2 (rev 01) > 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI > Controller #3 (rev 01) > 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI > Controller #4 (rev 01) > 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 EHCI > Controller (rev 01) > 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev e1) > 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC > Interface Bridge (rev 01) > 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) SATA > IDE Controller (rev 01) > 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller > (rev 01) > 01:05.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. > RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10) > > More detailed: > 01:05.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. > RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10) > Subsystem: Giga-byte Technology Unknown device e000 > Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10 > I/O ports at a000 [size=256] > Memory at e1000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] > [virtual] Expansion ROM at 20000000 [disabled] [size=128K] > Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2 > > > _______________________________________________ > CentOS mailing list > CentOS at centos.org > http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos-- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .---- Fred Smith / ( /__ ,__. __ __ / __ : / / / / /__) / / /__) .+' Home: fredex at fcshome.stoneham.ma.us / / (__ (___ (__(_ (___ / :__ 781-438-5471 -------------------------------- Jude 1:24,25 --------------------------------- -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
