Dear All, I am trying to install rgl on my mac notebook from the source file. I tried using: /usr/bin/R64 CMD INSTALL rgl_0.92.798.tar.gz and get the following error message: checking for X... no configure: error: X11 not found but required, configure aborted. ERROR: configuration failed for package ?rgl? * removing ?/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.14/Resources/library/rgl? * restoring previous ?/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.14/Resources/library/rgl? I do see a directory X11 installed under /usr and Sys.getenv("PATH") inside R gives me: [1] "/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin" Could you please hep me to install rgl package?> sessionInfo()R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22) Platform: x86_64-apple-darwin9.8.0/x86_64 (64-bit) locale: [1] en_GB.UTF-8/en_GB.UTF-8/en_GB.UTF-8/C/en_GB.UTF-8/en_GB.UTF-8 attached base packages: [1] stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods base Thanks in advance. Please ask about OS X on R-sig-mac . There is something you have not installed on your OS, but it will probably need several rounds to find what (and it will be not just Mac-specific but depend on the exact versions of OS X (which you told us) and Xcode (which you did not)).
