[R] Workshop on Bayesian methods and WinBUGS. One week to go!
Workshop on Bayesian methods and WinBUGS *************************************** A two-day workshop on Bayesian methods is being held on Friday 3 - Saturday 4 February 2012 at the University of Sydney. This course is suitable for graduate students, academics, researchers and professionals who wish to introduce themselves in the application of Bayesian methods and the use of WinBUGS software. The workshop is offered in association with the 11th International Colloquium on Paratuberculosis (ICP) but is also open to non-ICP participants. Bayesian tools in the control of Paratuberculosis Program outline, Day 1 (3 February 2012): -Introduction to Bayesian Inference (Probability theory; Bayes¢ theorem; The likelihood function; The prior & the posterior distribution). -Overview of WinBUGS (Running the software; Writing code; Estimation of a single proportion; Hands-on WINBUGS) -Bayesian prevalence estimation (One population; Multiple populations; Herd-level prevalence; Hands-on WINBUGS). Program outline, Day 2 (4 February 2012): -Bayesian latent class models in Se and Sp estimation (Conditionally independent & dependent tests; Continuous tests; Hands-on WinBUGS). -Bayesian logistic regression (Ordinary logistic regression; Logistic regression adjusting for the Se and Sp of the diagnostic process; Hands-on WinBUGS). -Checklist of what should be present in a Bayesian analysis; Guidelines on informative prior specification; The ParaTB paradigm.
