Hi, I've had little trouble getting WinXP to use a Samba share but Vista is obstinate. According to "netstat -an" on the Vista machine, its port 445 is open and being listened to. The Vista machine knows that the Samba server is there but reckons it's not allowed to connect. Should port 445 be turned off in order to connect to Samba? How? What other adjustments need to be made? Does Samba use ports 137-8? All help appreciated. Jim Donovan Office +61+2-8923-5208 Home +61+2-9416-8459 Cell +61-428-609-208 Pager +61+2-9966-7915
