[Samba] Can't see samba drives in host Linux from VMWare guest Windows
I have my machine configured to run VMWare Server with a NAT ethernet connection, and with samba running, I can see the host with "printers and faxes" and "scheduled tasks," but no drives. The whole point of this is to get access to my host drives from my Windows on VMWare guest. Here's my smb.conf: # cat smb.conf # Global parameters [global] workgroup = MARKGROUP server string = Samba Server log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log max log size = 50 username map = /etc/samba/smbusers socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 printcap name = /etc/printcap preferred master = Yes dns proxy = No wins support = Yes idmap uid = 16777216-33554431 idmap gid = 16777216-33554431 hosts allow = 192.168.230. 192.168.108. 127. cups options = raw [homes] comment = Home Directories path = /home/%u valid users = %S read only = No browseable = No [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba printable = Yes browseable = No [tmp] comment = Temporary file space path = /tmp read only = No guest ok = No Now, I would expect at least to be able to see the tmp, but nothing. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.
