Hi guys, I am running samba 3.023 @ Debian 4.0 Etch (Still beta, but had the same problem om Debian 3.1r3) The strange thing is my upload speed is about 30MB/s, but the download speed is about 5MB/s. I have noticed breaks during the download. (look at attached images). The server is a Opteron 144 @ 1.8 GHz with 2GB DDR and 4 SATA disks in RAID 10 configuration (this should be good enough for a max througput of 120MB/s... The 30MB/s limit is because of my (slow) laptop-harddisk). http://www.nabble.com/file/5721/download.JPG http://www.nabble.com/file/5722/upload.JPG This is my smb.conf: [global] socket options = SO_KEEPALIVE IPTOS_LOWDELAY TCP_NODELAY map to guest = Bad User encrypt passwords = Yes time server = Yes veto files = /*.eml/*.nws/riched20.dll/*.{*}/ wins support = Yes unix extensions = Yes netbios name = INSIDE netbios aliases = FILE MAIL server string = writeable = Yes printing = lprng workgroup = SERVERS os level = 32 domain master = Yes domain logons = Yes logon script = svr_boot.bat create mode = 0770 directory mode = 0770 log level = 1 security = user local master = yes preferred master = yes [homes] comment = Home Directories inherit permissions = Yes veto files = .*/*Desktop*/*Maildir/* browseable = No [public] comment = Public directory path = /public -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Samba-FAST-upload%2C-SLOW-download-%21-tf3040544.html#a8451284 Sent from the Samba - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
