I am not 100% sure but if I remember correctly we had the same problem with the cups postscript printer driver. Perhaps samba does not maintain correct standard values for network printer? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFDLAa5pF3l9rYt4bARAhV8AJ4g9n2ANnzr71L+gTi70hg7vvUJ8QCfdoHH GeWkeeF4vsOt4H+g9gis9mc=hKNY -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Samba only stores what the client sets when the driver is initalized. The PrinterDriverData and Devmode is treated as opaque data blob. cheers, jerry -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFDLWxyIR7qMdg1EfYRArchAJ4u7G9UTKLmuh+4HiTUEbEzNV5F8QCdHUWs we59PCF14Q8N8E53pg07038=lzCL -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Whats then the right way to initialize the drivers on the server? I installed the printer drivers through the wizard on the server as mentioned in the manuals about samba. Then I set up the standard values for the printer driver on the server. So I thought that so the drivers are correctly initialised. But I also saw that the clients do not honor this settings... kindly regards rOger -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFDLW3NpF3l9rYt4bARAp80AKCEdDF34ns4MHWzYluRYYIR9wqlXwCfZX+M s07FEiVbc607u7ZEYhLdHVk=ln6B -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
