[Samba] Can't create files using Mac OSX Client against Sambaserver on Debian Linux
Well, after some more poking around, I discovered that this problem was not neccessarily a simple matter of getting Samba properly configured. For the benefit of the list, I've posted the following URL which takes you to a Debian bug report which starts out with a post describing the exact problem I'm seeing. As it turns out, it may have more to do with a problem with file locking and the v2.2 Linux Kernel I was using. I'm in the process of installing a 2.4 kernel. Hopefully, that will fix things. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=249431>From: "Thomas Chadwick" <j_tetazoo@hotmail.com> >To: samba@lists.samba.org >Subject: [Samba] Can't create files using Mac OSX Client against >Sambaserver on Debian Linux >Date: Sat, 26 Jun 2004 19:24:37 -0400 > >So I have my Debian Linux (latest stable release) box setup as a Samba >server for my home LAN.
