Help with windwos 2000 and Samba 2.0.3 / can't see shares
I reported this (or tried, I emailed the bug list with the results with
debug set high). Both 2.0.7 pre1 and the CVS today won't show shares.
I note that tcpdump apparently shows that it is trying to negotiate an
old protocol - I can see the decode of the Win98 traffic, but not W2K.
It fails on the routine that does the get next share name.
Basically with W2K, smbclient -L won't show

connect windwos 7 to linux homes
With windows XP this worked perfect. I would map a network drive to \\servername\homes<file:///\\servername\homes>, provide my linux samba user account and it would stay functional between reboots.
With windows 7 I can map the network drive as in XP but after a reboot the mapped drive to the linux samba homes share breaks with the message Microsoft windows network: multiple connections to a

gpo not working with samba 4 migrated
Hi,
I have migrated samba 3 domain to samba, and I have found that when you try
to use gpo this are not applied we receive in windwos event log errors with
permissions in sysvol, I have checked paths to sysvol gpos and are correct.
Also I have tried with a new fresh domain (not migrated) and with this new
install works GPO
How can I debug this problems and find a solution?
Thanks

Samba4 server is not accessible for logon from Windows 2008R2 SP1.
There is Samba4 4.7.2 acting as standalone server on Ubuntu 14.04.x64.
Also there is Windwos 2008R2 SP1 acting as DC in the same network.
And also Windows XP/7 are in this network.
Logon to Samba4 is accessible from Windows XP and Windowx 7 but not
accessible from Windos 2008R2.
As logon to Windows clients is accessible from Windows 2008R2.
Username and password is asked by Samba and prov...

Asus eee and wine.
Hello guys i'm a new asus eee user, you know the small umpc running the Xadnros OS,and since its not alla that bad i'm thinking of sticking to it instead of installing windwos XP.I do need though to run some windows apps,so i heard that wine should be my weapon of choice for this purpose!
So anyway i'm not familiar with linux-like setup procedures so i followed a guide on the net for installing wine via repositories.
I added the repositories informations and chose...

Running windows app on ubuntu arm(recompiled wine)
...tion on processor and return to the wine running app.
Cross architecture principle:
Recompiled wine for arm architecture translate windows app/game instruction for linux which send instruction to processor and processor made instruction. Only change is that wine is recompiled.
Is possible to run windwos app on linux on arm based architecture?

Re-doing tdbsam
Running Samba 3.x with tdbsam. Its a small nework of 4
Windwos XP machines. Having a little trouble adding the
machines to the domain. pdbedit shows duplication
machines names and such. Since its such a small number of
machines, want to just start over with a fresh tdbsam as
it seems faster then trying to clean it up. Can we just
delete the existing...

Problems logging in
Hello People,
I am experiencing some weird Problems using samba on a linux server that is
supposed to connect the windows an Macintosh world in our production team.
So far everything works fine - i've set up a directory called "comon" that
is accessible from almost every Windwos workstation and almost every user.
The problem is "almost". There is actually one user, that is unable to
connect to the given directory on the samba server. This directory is
common and accessible to every user - when i log in as "gast" or any other
name on any of the wind...

Optimizing Samba
Hello All,
I have put together a Samba PDC for a mixed Bag of Windows Client
workstations. We have a few Windwos 9x, some Win NT 4.0 and a handful of
Windows 2000 workstations. The server is operating fine as a PDC for all
workstations, all the permissions are properly set and things are running
mostly smoothly.
There are a few things that are somewhat slow moving on the network. For
example, a...

"LAPACK routine DGESDD gave error code -12" with Debian (PR#2822)
...if we use "dgesdd".
This happens if I use the latest deb packages (and thus ATLAS, etc). It does
not happen if I build R in this same machine with "--without-blas" (where
make check reports no errors). In case it matters, the bug does not show up
in a different machine with Windwos 2000 and the Rblas.dll linked against
ATLAS provided in http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/ATLAS/P4).
I understand this is probably related to the issues mentioned in R-admin about
LAPACK 3.0 and some of the issues recently discussed in this list by M.
