I am using the pam_smbpass module, and I apologize if this is somewhat of a PAM problem, but the HP-UX PAM implementation leaves a lot to be desired so the docs are not always that helpful to me. When using pam_smbpass after an smbpasswd, I get two password changed lines, presumably because when smbpasswd uses PAM, it then re-calls the pam_smbpass module. Therefore, in addition to getting double output, I get two password changes, which is just undesirable/messy. What I would PREFER to have happen is that this process is reversible (with the exception of situations involving the user "root", but HP-UX at least does have by user PAM settings, if necessary) in that a change via smbpasswd then executes a UNIX password change (enforcing strong passwords through the strong password module, of course), instead of executing a Samba password change twice. I imagine it might require a new pam.conf definition for samba when changing passwords, but I dunno what Samba calls itself WRT PAM, or what I should be doing. Anyone care to point me in the right direction? I've already read all of the samples. Keep in mind that HP-UX is missing the "requisite" control flag, if it happens to be necessary for this. ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | | Ryan Novosielski - Jr. UNIX Systems Admin |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| | novosirj@umdnj.edu - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent. | IST/ACS - NJMS Medical Science Bldg - C630
