[Samba] Samba 2.2.9pre1 eating CPU and memory, big problem for me!
Hi again
A few weeks ago i posted to the list about this problem, but there was
no reply. Since then I have upgraded to latest 2.2.x CVS(yesterday) and the
problem
is still there.
Details:
For unknown reason smbd leaks memory and eats CPU(top reports RSS=68MB in less
than 10 hours
and CPU load up to 20%). So far 2 clients, both W2K, trigger this problem.
Stopping the
clients "Print Spooler" makes the CPU load go back to normal and
memory leakage stops, but RSS
remains at 68MB.
There are 4 printers installed on samba and these work fine.
I have tried rebooting the clients, Windows update to latest SW, removing the
clients
printers and installing them again, but the problem remains.
I can't find anything useful in the smbd logs.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
I am running samba on a RH 7.2 server, kernel 2.4.9-34
