Winbindd only looks for the directory there, it will not create it if it
doesn't exist. You need to either create it manually, or use something like
pam_mkhomedir.

Subject: [Samba] Winbind creates linux folders?
Hey all, OK here's my problem: I have successfully installed winbind to
where I have joined my local Win2k PDC and also can log in with a user from
that PDC. However, it does not create a directory
/home/winnt/<PDC>/<USER>
and all the files necessary under /home/winnt/<PDC>/<USER> which is
the
template I set in smb.conf. I am running Redhat 7.3 with the stock Samba
installation 2.2.3a I think. Any help is greatly appreciated.
