[Samba] [2.999+3.0cvs20020723-1] Problem with german umlauts
Hi! I'm using Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 unstable and therefore the newest (for debian available) Samba Version, which is 2.999+3.0cvs20020723-1. When I run testparm, I get the following output: # testparm Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf Unknown parameter encountered: "character set" Ignoring unknown parameter "character set" Unknown parameter encountered: "valid chars" Ignoring unknown parameter "valid chars" [...] Well, since this problem did occur the first time, I am not able to use the german umlauts (?,?,?, ...) in filenames on my shares. In prior versions of samba I used the following statement: || valid chars = ?:? ?:? ?:? ? in combination with || character set = ISO8859-15 which did work fine. Are there any undocumented features one can use now to support the german umlauts for filenames in the newer CVS versions? If you need any additional information, please just ask, I'm trying to solve this problem for quite a few days now, but - needless to say - without any good result. ciao, PS.: Please include my e-mail address in the CC line, as I am not subscribed to the list, thank you. -- | .-. | CCNA Alexander Griesser <tuxx@tuxx-home.at> | .''`. | | /v\ \ http://www.tuxx-home.at -=- Linux 2.4.18-xfs / : :' : | | /( )\ | echo "pgpkey" |mail tuxx@tuxx-home.at | `. `' | | ^^ ^^ `-------------------------------------------------' `- | -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
