[Samba] group ids not showing and recommended kernel changes for Samba on HP-UX 11?
The Samba documentation does not mention anything about it, but I am wondering if I should increase some of the tunable kernel parameters on an HP 11.00 server that is running Samba 2.2.5 with winbindd? I am currently using the default kernel after installing from scratch and the system has 2GB memory and 4GB swap. It is an N4000 HP server. After creating some files from a Windows2000 machine to a share on the HP I went on the HP server and did "ls-l" and the user is correctly populated, but the group shows only the group id number! I am on a large NT domain and when I try to run "wbinfo -u" or "wbinfo -g" I get the following errors in log.winbindd: [2002/07/29 16:27:51, 0] lib/util.c:(671) Memory allocation error: failed to expand to 19957504 bytes [2002/07/29 16:27:51, 0] nsswitch/winbindd_group.c:(717) failed to enlarge buffer! [2002/07/29 16:36:39, 0] lib/util.c:(671) Memory allocation error: failed to expand to 16504832 bytes [2002/07/29 16:36:39, 0] nsswitch/winbindd_user.c:(570) failed to enlarge buffer! I am thinking the above errors could be fixed by increasing some of the kernel parameters? Thanks, Fritz Matter
