samba - Jul 2002 - Help for configuring samba-instructor from NewJersey USA

Dear sir
I am instructor at dover business college in New Jersey. I am teaching linux
operating system. As a part of curriculum I am teaching samba configuration. I
am able to access linux files from windows computer, but failt to access windows
files from linux computer.
I have followed following steps
1. #mkdir win981 ( win981 is my windows computer name)
 2. #smbmount //win981/c/ win981
3. #cd win981
Please help me in fixing this problem.

You need to give more information.
There are a lot of reasons why this might fail.
1. Have you gone through DIAGNOSIS.txt yet?
2. Have you tried smbclient -L win981 ?
3. Are you doing this as root ?

Try this
mount -t smbfs -o username=username,password=secret //win981/c/ win981
