Hi there! I am trying to get the game Freelancer running @ Wine. APPDB-Article: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=1871 What I have done: whole .wine backupped uninstalled wine completly installed wine inserted CD, ran setup.exe with wine installed in default directory started game Then I clicked at Singleplayer and it loaded first, but then it began to struggle and stopped loading. It also seemed for me that the sound was repeating all the time. At least a bit... I should have a pretty clean wine installation I guess, considering that I just reinstalled the software. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) and the newest wine version from the repisiotiri..damn word, you know what I mean, lol. Next step?
(Wine version is 1.2) I didn't configure wine yet, so if you have a hint for me, go for it.
when you backed up .wine .. or reinstalled Wine ... did you make sure your new install and everything your doing created a brand new clean ~/.wine folder? could be problems if its using an old one.
Yes, it got totally deleted and was missing till I installed the game.
