I have managed to install DAO:Awakening. It is working in the sense that you can get into the game and play the game but a lot of item text is missing. For example, many new items have no description and appear in my inventory as gxa_im_(code) . Also I have unlocked battlemage by buying the book, however I cannot level up as battlemage, I cannot click the specialization button, nor does any text appear describing what the specialization is. Also none of the new spells have any description text. I have installed Awakening by following these steps: 1. From the install unrar the following four files: ep1_campaign.rar ep1_core.rar ep1_en.rar ep1_vo_en.rar 2. these rars will extract into folders, you need to put these folders into the appropriate location, either in Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Addins folder or packages folder. For example ep1_core goes into packages, ep1_en has some files that go into packages and others that go into Addins. 3. go into AddIns/dao_prc_ep_1 and open manifest.xml and copy the appropriate text and put it into AddIns.xml. For more details read http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19677 4. Play Awakening. 5. to get DLC content working, go into Addins.xml and change all ExtendedModuleUID="Single Player" to ExtendedModuleUID="DAO_PRC_EP_1" however make sure you backup you addins.xml before you do this since it may effect your normal origins game. So using these steps makes the game playable however, only to a certain extent. If anyone can offer advice on how to improve this and get the missing text and new spells working, it would be very much appreciated.

Instructions can be found in the Wine FAQ at: http://wiki.winehq.com/FAQ#get_log Since I expect this file to be lengthy, can you post it to a site like pastebin.com and then post the URL to the file here? The log file will give us an idea on how to proceed. Thank you. James McKenzie
hey James thanks for the reply. I should just mention a few things first i think. I am using crossover games 8.1.4. I have come to wine forums since crossover uses wine and more users seem to play dragon age in wine and might know what is going on or have similar problems. Using crossover, I have compiled a debug file. The debugging options are +relay, +print, +key, +seh, +psdrv, +keyboard, +tid, +font, +X11drv, +thread, +file and +event. Since the debug file with all (except +relay coz it creates a 3.8Gb file) couldn't be posted on pastebin, I have created smaller files with just some of the debugging options. 1. +thread http://pastebin.com/Rweduum4 2. +event +file http://pastebin.com/zpF3GggL 3. +print +key http://pastebin.com/R9KJLn4f 4. +keyboard +tid http://pastebin.com/HYf7mhrn 5. +seh +psdrv http://pastebin.com/iayQVN1H Sorry I don't know too much about this stuff, so I am not sure which debugging options are most important or what combinations are best. If you would like me to recreate a new file with any other options please let me know. In all cases, I loaded the game and went into my last saved game. I opened up my inventory where many items are appearing in code and without descriptions. I then opened up my spells menu and moused over the specializations which also have no text and I cannot select even though they appear as unlocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
