wine users - Jul 2010 - Tropico 3 on Mac OS X

Hi guys,
I bought Tropico 3 and am trying to run this.
Everytime i run it, it shows a loading screen for about 5 seconds and then
closes and says either A serious error has occurred or "internal errors,
invalid parameters"

Does anyone know how to fix this and get this running. 
It would be really appreciated.

Can you try running this from a terminal session?

BTW, where did you get your Wine from?

eh... people give it gold and platinum, but I haven't been able to do more
than just get it hung at the loading screen forever trying something thats
failing and timing out over and over... I tried several Wine versions, so not
sure whats going on.

yeah, I just downloaded the demo off their website

I don't recall the error messages... I'll have to reinstall it later and
see, I only tested it because the OP was trying to get it to work.  The install
runs great.  I don't think there is anything missing in Xquartz that should
prevent the game from running in a virtual desktop.

i got wine from Macports i think
