I really need help, I tried installing several times already and I'm getting the same problem no matter what I do. I install the game and everything seems to go well during install. After installation I try to start the game and it gets stuck to the splash screen. I looked in Google and found that this problem is not related to Linux or Wine, some other people have been experiencing the same problem on a windows machine, and all they had to do to fix it is reinstall the sound driver. The Wine sound test checks out. Also, I tried installing the Realtek sound card driver for Linux with no results. When I try to start the game 'htop' shows UT3 process running. It goes until it's memory is at 13.5% and then 1 of the processors goes to 0 and the other one stays on 100. It doesn't stop until I kill it. Here is the Terminal output: Code: tom at tom-desktop:~$ /usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux --run "Unreal Tournament 3" PlayOnLinux v3.7.2 Checking python : [ Ok ] bt_audio_service_open: connect() failed: Connection refused (111) bt_audio_service_open: connect() failed: Connection refused (111) bt_audio_service_open: connect() failed: Connection refused (111) bt_audio_service_open: connect() failed: Connection refused (111) AL lib: alAuxEffectSlot.c:507: alcDestroyContext(): deleting 4 AuxiliaryEffectSlot(s) 1 more thing worth mentioning. I've recently replaced my OS from Ubuntu 8.04 to 9.10, and since then Wine has not been itself. a lot of things that should work smoothly don't work (I also tried to install office, and it gives me error when I try to start Word.) If any other info is necessary I'll be happy to provide it. tnx[/code]

I purged the bluez-alsa The bt error disappeared from the error, but still UT3 does not run, symptoms are the same. It's getting to 13.5% memory and then stops one of the processors and stays that way until I kill it. This is the what I get when I try to run it now: Code: tom at tom-desktop:~$ env WINEPREFIX="/home/tom/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe" fixme:ntdll:find_reg_tz_info Can't find matching timezone information in the registry for bias -120, std (d/m/y): 27/09/2009, dlt (d/m/y): 27/03/2009 fixme:keyboard:RegisterHotKey (0x10030,100,0x00000000,89): stub fixme:keyboard:UnregisterHotKey (0x10030,100): stub err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} could be created for context 0x1 fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x22adef4,0x00000000), stub! fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x22addf0,0x00000000), stub! fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x22af268,0x00000000), stub! fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x169cf0,0x169bb0): stub fixme:faultrep:ReportFault 0x22ad37c 0x0 stub fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 59 (SPI_SETSTICKYKEYS) fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 53 (SPI_SETTOGGLEKEYS) fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 51 (SPI_SETFILTERKEYS) AL lib: alAuxEffectSlot.c:507: alcDestroyContext(): deleting 4 AuxiliaryEffectSlot(s) ^CAL lib: alEffect.c:1167: exit(): deleting 2 Effect(s) AL lib: alFilter.c:404: exit(): deleting 32 Filter(s) m Files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe: /build/buildd/openal-soft-1.8.466/OpenAL32/Include/alMain.h:73: DeleteCriticalSection: Assertion `ret == 0' failed. err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code 80000101 flags 1 addr 0x68000832
