I read that Wine 20030408 was supporting glibc 2.3 (here http://www.winehq.com/?announce=1.74 ). However, I get this message when I try to execute wine: wine: chdir to /tmp/.wine-nmarsh/server-303-242a7 : No such file or directory I did some goggeling and didn't find much. Cleared out /tpm and checked permissions. $ ls -l /|grep tmp drwxrwxrwt 7 root root 4096 Apr 14 20:39 tmp $ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hda3 16G 2.7G 12G 19% / /dev/hda2 99M 9.2M 85M 10% /boot none 125M 0 125M 0% /dev/shm /dev/cdrom1 433M 433M 0 100% /mnt/cdrom1 Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Did you configure it with ./configure --with-nptl ? Otherwise, if you downloaded binaries, you need binaries compiled for RH9. One possibility is this one (I haven't tried it myself): http://www.genie.it/utenti/nonsolomicrosoft/wine-20030408.i586.rpm which is related to: http://digilander.libero.it/winehqitalia/
