wine users - Feb 2001 - mIRC hangs, focus-problem?

I'm trying to run mIRC (now it works under wine) and it starts up
just fine. But I can't interact with it. Don't know whether it's
wine
that have freezed or there is some kind of focus-problem. I vaguely
remember that wine had some sort of focus-problem with XFree4.x some
time ago (but not sure). I'm running XFree 4.0.2.

Anyone got a clue to where I should start looking?
