Well, those borders are not drawn by Wine, but by your window manager. I 
have seen effects like those when running on a machine with a limited 
color palette. Are you for some reason using something other than 
"millions" of colors?

Actually, that depends on whether you are letting the WM handle this
or not. In case wine is doing the handling, could you try an older
version (something like 0.9.27) to see if it is a regression?

It all works fine, although I still feel a sense of horror to see IE on my
