My application needs ie7 to be installed. I installed ies4linux(ie7 beta). But it is not able to recognize ies4linux. Is it possible that wine can access ies4linux registry? how can i overcome this problem?

I'm under the assumption that I could use ies4linux to enable html in programs if I install the program with them. However, I have no idea how to do it. MS Project 2003 seems to mostly work in Wine RC1 but it needs to use a html renderer to do anything useful. The problem is that whatever it uses need to be in the trusted zone in the Internet Explorer options which I don't know how to access. I tried to install IEs4Linux but that installs into its own wine environment ~/.ies4linux/ie6/ instead of ~/.wine/ so Project can't get use the settings. Hi Guys, I am trying to get Contribute 2 to work in Wine. It installed ok (with an error message box at the end but still runs) but it seems to need internet explorer to run properly - the main window remains blank when trying to view html but works fine when it is in editing mode. I have ies4linux, can someone tell me the best way to run/install Contribute so it knows where to look to find it? Thanks Chris

My debian Synaptic just updated me with winelib 9.58, which I should have been looking out for - because winelib 9.58 totally messes up internet explorer's display of pages with fixed backgrounds. Hello, I installed IE6 with both WineTools and IEs4Linux (under different user accounts). Most of the features work, but IE often hangs. Then I can only kill the process. Winetricks is not a part of Wine, but it is supported here as it's an official side project and its creator is on the forums/mailing list. Winetricks is available from the Wine Wiki (see links at top of page) ( http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks ). Just run winetricks by itself and navigate the menus, or type winetricks ie6 in a terminal to install Internet Explorer.
