wine users - Mar 2007 - compiz/gl-x crashes my games!

I'm running Mandriva 2007 and like the eye candy of of the 3d desktop but
wine
is more important to me. Whenever I start with with the 3d desktop turned on 
though any 3d games I have will either crash or report that I don't have a
3d card.

Is there any way round this or am I to be denied the pleasure of the wibbly 
wobbly windows?

One of us is in the wrong newsgroup.  Might it be you?  My
header shows this is the Wine newsgroup.  The Mandriva
newsgroup is a couple doors away.
