wine users - Nov 2007 - No more sound

Hello.

I've just erased my ~/.wine by mistake, and I don't have sound anymore!
I
can't find why; when I start wine with

Why does the warning say 'no driver', even though ALSA is working
perfectly
on my machine?

This is using wine 0.9.49 btw.

Forgot: I ran wineprefixcreate just after erasing my .wine, to recreate a
new one from scratch.

> Try running winecfg - and set sound there (alsa or oss) and try again.
Forgot that too, right after wineprefixcreate I ran winecfg, clicked on the
audio tab and wine told me that it chose a driver for me - it had chosen
ALSA so everything seemed ok, but clicking on the 'Audio test' button
gave
me a message that the audio test had failed.

So even after winecfg I still don't have audio.
