As far as I know, the Polycom's don't have any kind of echo cancellation for this type of thing, however there is a technology called a FICUS PLANT, which inhabits many offices and can solve your bare office problem :) -- Tom On 1/11/06, Carlos Chavez <cursor@telecomabmex.com> wrote:> > I am having a bit of a problem with several phones (Polycom 601 and > Aastra 9133i). We have Polycom phones and they have not echo on internal calls, some times a small echo on outside calls. Jorge
I have never had any echo on inside calls (acoustic) and have placed many Poly in bare offices. If on outside calls then you may need an acoustic echo can on your line. I added a year ago and all complaints disappeared. Do a test call to yourself, and crank it down to the minimum. The echo should be alleviated. Then, bump it up bit by bit until the volume is acceptable. You should be able to find a balance between echo and mic volume. I had the same problem with loudmouth salespeople on Snom 190, the phone would pick up echo from the room. On the 190, I eventually turned down the mic volume to 2 on a scale of 8. I believe this is set low by default on the latest firmware rev for the 190. hth
