[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help!
Hi All, I know that this may not strictly be an asterisk issue, but if anyone has any ideas on this prob it would be appreciated. I have a working asterisk setup using Suse 9.1, a BT ISDN BRI card (Fritz?), sipura 3000 and a few cisco 7940's. I wanted to do add faxing into the equation, so I thought I would try and setup the following: PSTN->asterisk->hylafax->pc At the moment asterisk and hylafax are on the same box. I went and installed t38modem, hylafax, openh323 and so on.... got chan_oh323 compiled and installed. I can now dial an extension - it gets routed to t38modem, it picks up but I hear no modem tones (screeching) just silence. when I dial it with a fax machine the fax machine just says 'no carrier'. Looking at the hylafax logs I see t38modem answer but then get 'no carrier'. If I make t38modem dial an extension all I hear is a beeep.......beeep......beeep of a fax machine. Also when I try to use fax tone detection in my exensions.conf it doesnt work - the call is always routed to the normal sip device and not the t38modem (oh323) device. I have followed the examples on the wiki. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here? Do I also need to load faxcapi? I have not yet tried using the sipaura 3000 to pick up the incoming fax call - I will try that later. After you changed the zapata.conf per the wiki... make sure you stop asterisk, unload your zap drivers, reload them, then start asterisk again. ----- Original Message ----- From: slwatts@winckworths.co.uk <slwatts@winckworths.co.uk> Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2004 11:34:33 +0100 Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help! [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help!
zapata.conf? Must have missed that - but I am not using any analog cards, I am using capi. If this feature dependent on using zapata and compatible hardware then? on a slightly different tack - tried the sipura 3000 last night, has anyone got this working with faxes. Set all the fax detection tones to yes, but it still treats a fax call just like any other voice call :-( Thanks, Sam.
