similar to: Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help!

Hi, I think this is one area that needs to be developed. I am curently implementing a system for my home so cannot really justify the cost of financially supporting the development of this when all I really need to do is buy a telephone extension lead for my existing fax modem!!! I am more than willing to devote some testing/documentation time (I am not really a programmer) if that helps.

Does anyone know if this phone can or does work with Asterisk ? I have a potential client who wants to throw away their current mitel ip system (keeps crashing on a regular basis - not good for a phone-based company), but are reluctant to purchase new handsets. Thanks. Julian.

Hi, I'm trying to get T.38 passthrough to work to T38Modem and Hylafax so I can terminate T.38 faxes from an ATA. However I haven't had much luck. I've tried two supposedly T.38 capable ATAs, the Grandstream 206 and the 502. The 286 seems to connect to T38Modem, but Hylafax doesn't get any fax data. So at the risk of starting a religious war, which one should I use? I don't mind running IAX if I have to. I want as much flexibility and stability as I can get. So, what are your recommendations?
