I currently have two Cisco phones, a 7960 and 7970. The 7960 has a SIP OS on it and the 7970 has a SCCP. When the 7960 powers up it loads OS79XX.TXT, SIPDefault.cnf, SIP000E3875266C.cnf, RINGLIST.DAT, and dialplan.xml. I have a Cisco SmartNet agreement with the phone so I have access to download the firmware. I recently purchased a Cisco 7970 phone and was in the process of configuring it. I was having problems so Cisco suggested that I do a factory reset. Now the phone won?t boot at all. I noticed that when the phone contacts the TFTP server it is trying to download term70.default.loads file which I believe is the firmware load that is required for the phone to load after a factory reset. I was able to download all of the 7969 files from Cisco and uncompress them and put them into the TFTP directory but the 7970 files are in a different format and require CallManager to uncompress them and put them into the TFTP directory. If possible I need to get a copy of term70.default.loads form someone?s TFTP server. Regards, Jim Chatlos Csak azt kell, amit ha nem csin?lsz, megd?glesz. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hi, Is there anyone with some uptodate info on the Cisco 7970 and Asterisk skinny / SCCP? I know chan_sccp doesn't support the 7970. Is it true the basics should work with skinny? All info is welcome. Steven
Does anyone know where to get the default firmware for the 7970. I purchased one, and made the mistake of resetting it to factory defaults without having the firmware file. I will pay someone to help me repair this problem & also to help me get the unit to connect to *. This is an illegal copy of software. Hello I have a Cisco 7970 phone that when I was trying to reset it to factory defaults it rebooted and now is stuck in a constant loop of the lights flashing by going down the line pool one light at a time in a constant rotation. I have the firmware for the phone, but have no idea on how to load or it how to get this phone functioning again. I would definitely be willing to pay someone to help me get this thing back online, if someone can contact me either here or offlist to get this resolved I would appreciate it tremendously. The 7970 when reset to factory will delete the firmware load leaving just the bootloader. 1. Hold down the # key 2. Power it on 3. Keep holding the power key until the line keys blink orange down the tree 4. Have the firmware files on your tftpserver when it boots 5. I ran into this same problem the other day. What you need to do is put all firmware files in the tftp root directory. The trick with the files is you need to match the case of the filename that the phone is looking for. My XmlDefault.cnf.xml needed to have the proper case. If you do a tcpdump on your server you can see what file its getting stuck on. This is how I figured out what it is looking for: tcpdump -i eth1 port tftp -vv It will output what file the phone is looking for. Have my 7970 working great with *. Hope this helps. I'm using chan_sccp module. The phone is using the latest firmware from Cisco. Pretty much everything works great. Somethings that aren't working, are call conferencing, customizable ring tone list, etc. Also I'm not really liking how the sccp channel works from the asterisk command line. Its not easy to reload the configs. It didn't help. I think something else is problem. I have enabled debug mode on asterisk CLI, but I don't receive any message from 7970 phone (at lease asterisk doesn't show anything on CLI with debug mode ON). What could be the problem? -- Tomislav Parcina tparcina#lama.hr
Is 8.0.2.SR1 still the latest firmware? I still haven't managed to do anything useful with that weary expensive phone. It still only receives and places calls, nothing else. Is there any exciting feature that can work with asterisk and SIP firmware? Has anybody managed to do anything of the following: - my screensaver - picture of calling person - External directory - dialplan.xml - How to setup hinting (Multiple Call Appearance) - How to login true ssh? -- Tomislav Par?ina Lama Computers Split Stinice 12, 21000 Split Tel.: +385(21)495148 Mob.: +385(91)1212148 SIP: tomo@pbx.lama.hr e-mail: tparcina#lama.hr http://www.lama.hr
