[Asterisk-Users] G729 and snom

hey, I bought a license for 729 but I can't use it this is the message.

 == Registered translator 'g729tolinb' from format 8 to 6, cost 99999
  == Registered translator 'lintog729b' from format 6 to 8, cost 18
  == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/enum.conf': Found
Asterisk Ready.
*CLI> WARNING[5126]: File chan_sip.c, Line 1601 (process_sdp): No compatible
codecs!

I want to use a snom 100 with this codec.

Well you propably have to add to your sip.conf
disallow=all
allow=g729

[Asterisk-Users] G729 and snom

Do you have allow=g729 in sip.conf and do you have  G.729 enabled in the 
SNOM?

Turn on sip debug to see all the gory details

[Asterisk-Users] G729 and snom

THX it fixed, but new problem.
I can't run asterisk in the background for somwhat the reason. When I start
it with asterisk it escapes. but any other way it is working. like with -vvvvc
or -d etc.
Any idea

[Asterisk-Users] G729 and snom

OK thx that would work.
I found the problem I'm on it. It was that I've installed zaptel modules
but
I don't have one.
And something happens when I start just by asterisk.
Otherwise it just drops me warnings and passes.
Now I removed the modules and compiled asterisk again will see if it helped.

No go.:(
I tried even with screen still exits. Even the new installation.
I'm getting Can't locate module char-major-196 in the syslog.
Is it something to do with *?

[Asterisk-Users] G729 and snom

Yes I can call everything and everything looks good and running with
asterisk -vvvc but there is no other way to start it in the background. you
know for some time ps -ax|grep aster shows it and after a few seconds it
gets to [asterisk] and exiting.
