R help - Sep 2010 - Date/Time format

Hello,

Is it possible to instruct (permanently) R to write on csv (and read 
from csv) time series, where the time stamp has a particular format:

say:

YYYY-mm-dd

i.e.,
as in

format(Sys.Date(), "%Y-%m-%d")
