Has anyone else had experience with CentOS and the latest version of R? $uname -r 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5 On occasion, I need to have the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable which I set in ~/.bash_profile. Until R-2.9.0 that has worked fine, but now when I check with Sys.getenv("LD_LIBRARY_PATH"), I see it's not set. It appears to me that it's not something that can be set after R has started. The problem doesn't exist with Fedora 8, nor with Mepis 6.5 in my experience, and I've been informed that Fedora 9 doesn't have the problem either. Has anyone else seen it? Particularly with CentOS.
