Hi,
I just had my Dell R610 reboot with a kernel panic when I threw a couple
of zfs clone commands in the terminal at it.
Now, after the system had rebooted zfs will not import my pool anylonger
and instead the kernel will panic again.
I have had the same symptom on my other host, for which this one is
basically the backup, so this one is my last line if defense.
I tried to run zdb -e backupPool_01 and it came up with this (among a
lot of other data, of course). On my other server I already tried to use
zfs:zfs_recover=1 and aok=1 in /etc/system, but that would not prevent
the kernel panic.
What else can I try? Right now I am running zdb -e -bscvL against it, as
I read somewhere that this had fixed such an issue for someone, but this
will take of course time and I don''t know, if this will lead to
anything...

Some generic ideas:
Looks like the zdb output is cut, is it cut because of mail reader or
because zdb died for some reason? If died pstack core..
What does panic & stack trace say?
Does zpool import work any better with option -f or -F? Some have in the
past suggested giving -o ro to it as well, but don?t think that would do
much (?).

Hi,
I just had my Dell R610 reboot with a kernel panic when I threw a couple of
zfs clone commands in the terminal at it.
Now, after the system had rebooted zfs will not import my pool anylonger and
instead the kernel will panic again.
I have had the same symptom on my other host, for which this one is
basically the backup, so this one is my last line if defense.
I tried to run zdb -e backupPool_01 and it came up with this (among a lot
of other data, of course). On my other server I already tried to use
zfs:zfs_recover=1 and aok=1 in /etc/system, but that would not prevent the
kernel panic.
What else can I try? Right now I am running zdb -e -bscvL against it, as I
read somewhere that this had fixed such an issue for someone, but this will
take of course time and I don''t know, if this will lead to anything

The vmdump.0 is a compressed crash dump. You will need to convert it to a format that can be read. # savecore -f ./vmdump.0 ./ This will create a couple of files, but the ones you will need next is unix.0 & vmcore.0. Use mdb to print out the stack. # mdb unix.0 vmcore.0 run the following to print the stack. This would at least tell you what function the system is having a panic in. You could then do a sunsolve search or google search. $C and gather zio_state data ::zio_state And check the msgbuf to see if there are any hardware problems. ::msgbuf Then quit mdb.
