We have a couple 48 - 1TB drive bays from PAC data. The drives bays support RAID 0,1,5, no JBOD unfortunately, Fibrechannel interface. What would be the best way to configure these drives? We were thinking of creating 96 - 1TB RAID 0 stripes of 1 drive each so that we can let ZFS handle everything. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone have any ideas? The approach you describe may work well. I am using a similar approach (different hardware) with no issues for over two years now. Just make sure that your array firmware will allow you to effectively identify and service a drive which has completely failed. Some arrays may lose the LUN entirely and require that it be recreated via a management interface rather than immediately making a new drive available via the original LUN ID. I have but unfortunately they don''t support JBOD with this chassis. We now pay much better attention before we purchase something. :) -----Original Message----- From: Brandon High [mailto:bhigh at freaks.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 2010 1:00 PM To: GARRISON, TRAVIS J.
