zfs discuss - Jun 2009 - zio_assess

Hi,

What does   zio_assess do? Is it a stage of pipeline? I see quite a bit  these
stacks in 5 second time.
I tried to search src.opensolaris, did not find any reference. Thanks for any
help

zio_assess went away with SPA 3.0 :
     6754011 SPA 3.0: lock breakup, i/o pipeline refactoring, device failure
handling

You now have :
	zio_vdev_io_assess(zio_t *zio)

Yes it''s one of the last stages of the I/O pipeline (see zio_impl.h).
