[zfs-discuss] Dumping pool configuration for D/R purposes
In the ZFS admin guide under the topic of Repairing Pool Wide Damage it talks about in the event that it''s not possible to open the pool you have to scrap it, re-create it and then restore from backup. To do this it mentions keeping a file that describes the layout of the datasets and locally set properties and the details from a zpool statis. Is there no command, or possibility of one to dump the config of a pool out to a flat file that can be used to re-create the pool under such circumstances - like the options off vxprint to dump the disk group configs and then re-create them via vxmake - or is the only option to keep a manually updated text file somewhere on the server???
