Xen users - Jan 2013 - programmatically copying and running scripts inside the DomUs

All,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to copy scripts into guests
(windows or linux) and run them remotely, other than scp and ssh.
Basically, for those familiar with vmware''s vix, I am looking for
something
like copytoguest and startprog
I looked at libguestfs, but it seems to require the vm to be shut down to
do copies.
Any help is appreciated.
