Xen users - Jan 2013 - Windows 7 install BIOS not fully compliant when memory >3600

Hi all,


	I''m trying to install win7 64 bit under a hvm domU, using
kernel 3.2.36 64bit dom0, xen 4.2-testing from hg repo, with Tobias
Geiger''s nvidia vga passthrough patch.


	When I try to boot with the win7 install disc, it started
loading and shortly after i get a blue screen saying:


	The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant.


	If I change the memory to <=3600, then it works.
Anything above that number doesn''t. Feels like some sort of 32bit
vs 64bit issue?


	My xen_caps has hvm-3.0-x86_64, and here''s part of the domU
config file:

name = "domu-win"
builder = "hvm"
#memory = 8192
memory = 2048
vcpus = 2
acpi=1
apic=1
pae=1
localtime=1
stdvga=0


	I''ve omitted things here that shouldn''t matter like vnc
setting,
disk, etc.


	I haven''t even started playing with those pci/vga passthrough
yet, so I haven''t put them in the config yet.


	Any ideas?

Are you able to repro without that patch? (I don''t know what is in it
at
all).

There should have been some numbers too, can you decode as per
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256841 ?

	I have confirmed that the problem only exists with the nvidia
patches
(http://www.davidgis.fr/download/xen-4.2_rev25240_gfx-passthrough-patchs.tar.bz2)


	I think I will start a new thread about this, since I also
have some more issues with the passthrough.
