Hello list, does anyone has a solution/sugestion for a Web based management for xen hosts, pools and virtual machines. The hosts are Debian with Xen4 (installed by apt-get - xen-linux-system). Thanks, TM _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xen.org http://lists.xen.org/xen-users
There are plenty depending on what you''re looking for - openxenmanager and xen orchestra are both fairly straightforward web UIs, and openstack certainly would be a tool for managing hosts, pools, and VMs, although potentially overkill. My main experience has been with Convirture, but it''s not compatible with Xen 4 (yet). I believe that Cloudstack supports Xen on Debian. Not sure Xen on Debian working with Cloudstack or not. But I know Cloudstack doesn''t support XCP on Ubuntu 12.04 dom0, which is what I am working on right now. I came across an article on the Xen wiki while reading through some older messages. Take a look at the "XCP Management Tools"entry. I''m getting much pain trying to make CloudStack 3.0.x, installed over a Oneiric (a their''s installation instruction suggests), to play nice with XCP 1.1. AFAIK, XCP 1.5 is the one not supported, although I have not got 1.1 to work fine. Is my cause lost, and XCP 1.1 is known not to work with CloudStack? Thank you. -- Alexandre Kouznetsov
If you install XCP from the link http://www.xen.org/download/xcp/index.html, both 1.0 and 1.1 are supported. But if you are using XCP from Ubuntu/Debian release, pretty sure there are some issues, at least, in my test, XCP on Ubuntu 12.04 doesn''t work with Cloudstack, as the XCP package is totally changed.> -----Original Message----- > From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xen.org [mailto:xen-users- > bounces@lists.xen.org] On Behalf Of Alexandre Kouznetsov > Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2012 3:56 PM > To: xen-users@lists.xen.org > Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Xen Source Management > > Hello, Edison. > > El 13/06/12 16:40, Edison Su escribió: > > Not sure Xen on Debian working with Cloudstack or not. Todd Deshane''s presentation "Introduction to XCP" has a useful bit about GUI management options at 32:35. http://cloudstack.org/build-a-cloud-day-videos/202-introduction-to-the-xen-cloud-platform.html Eric Pretorious Truckee, CA>________________________________ > From: Eric <epretorious@yahoo.com> >To: "xen-users@lists.xen.org" <xen-users@lists.xen.org> >Cc: "xen-api@lists.xen.org" <xen-api@lists.xen.org> >Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2012 3:04 PM >Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Xen Source Management > > >I came across an article on the Xen wiki while reading through some older messages. I have a funny install process, using PXE network boot and installing on a USB Flash, so I don''t install directly form the ISO. Already discarded that the "funny" details of my set up are cosing me to fail, the behavior on a regular HDD install from a CDROM is just the same. Have not posted it to the list yet. If I success to reproduce my problem with proprietary XenServer, I will know that it''s not XCP specific issue. Is not, I''ll do my best to fill a bug report.>> -----Original Message----- >> From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xen.org [mailto:xen-users- >> bounces@lists.xen.org] On Behalf Of Alexandre Kouznetsov >> Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2012 3:56 PM >> To: xen-users@lists.xen.org >> Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Xen Source Management >> >> Hello, Edison. >> >> El 13/06/12 16:40, Edison Su escribió: >>> Not sure Xen on Debian working with Cloudstack or not.
