[Xen-users] XCP slow install, start and stop vm on IBM X3650 server
Hi! My vm was running on local storage (DELL R710) with normal performance but, after export and import it to another server (IBM X3650 - Xeon(R) CPU E5310) in a pool with a hardware hba storage, the vm startup and reboot it''s very slow. The installation process of new vm is very slow too. The Xeon E5620 CPU is better for virtualization than Xeon E5310? Can someone explain to me why? Does the guest still have the Xen Tools installed on the IBM system? Can you give more details on the hardware specs and also the specifics on your domU configuration in terms of memory, HVM or PV, etc.? Re: [Xen-users] XCP slow install, start and stop vm on IBM X3650 server
Todd, There is a way to update the RDAC driver? I have tried to compile the module downloaded from IBM but many errors occur in the compilation. Does this problem will be fixed in version 1.1 final? Or is it just a bug of the driver included in version 1.0. Also did tests with the 1.1 beta and had the same problems. When checking the server logs I saw several messages related to successive changes of state (roundrobin - active - ghost) of disk paths and received several warnings from IBM Storage Manager related to preferred path config error. Thanks 2011/8/30 Todd Deshane <todd.deshane@xen.org>> On Tue, Aug 30, 2011 at 2:38 PM, DJ Roger <djroger.abalando@gmail.com> > wrote: > > > > > > 2011/8/30 Todd Deshane <todd.deshane@xen.org> > >> > >> What version of XCP are you using? > >> > >> > > > > I''m using XCP 1.0 > > Please keep these messages on the list(s) as appropriate. > > Thanks, > Todd > > -- > Todd Deshane > http://www.linkedin.com/in/deshantm > http://www.xen.org/products/cloudxen.html > http://runningxen.com/ >-- DJ ROGER www.bsbblack.com twitter.com/djrogerbsbblack Rogério da Costa Analista de informática e consultor de T.I. Re: [Xen-users] XCP slow install, start and stop vm on IBM X3650 server
Hi, all, I just found this reference which I think explains the problem I''m having with multipathing and IBM DS4700. It seems that the DMP RDAC implementation included in XCP does not give good support for IBM storage arrays. Thanks. 2011/9/1 DJ Roger <djroger.abalando@gmail.com>> Todd, > > There is a way to update the RDAC driver?
