Hello, I got myself in a strange situation. I have installed Xen 4.0 on debian squeeze on machine with Intel. But the machine is half-broken. So I put disks in new machine - almost the same but with AMD CPU. No I cannot boot XEN hypervisor, but regular debian kernel 2.6.32 aj can boot. Might the change from Intel to AMD cause this? I was googling around but I cannot find any help. It just doesn`t recognize disk, so it won`t boot XEN. Thanks in advance for every help. Re: [Xen-users] xen on AMD failed to identify SATA disk
hi i wouldn t play around a lot. the xen images, lvm or file bases work with xen 4.0 4.0.1 4.1.1 or 4.2 stable. so backup domu''s, reinstall server or xen, restore domu. i prefer rather a clean xen server than broken and repaired one with uncalculateable syntoms thanks walter> Hello, > > I got myself in a strange situation. Hi, by half-broken machine I mean hardware. So that why I decided to change only hardware, but as I wrote, it is almost the same HW but with AMD cpu. Yours idea is my last chance when every other fails. Thank you for responding.
