I run CentOS 6 with kernel 3.0.0, I use "$ git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git linux-3.0.0-xen" command and it works. After that can I compile kernel-xen successfully? -- Thân ái, Quốc _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
I''m using Debian 6 with an upstream Linux 3.0 kernel. It works great. You might need to apply the VGA patch mentioned here http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/konrad/xen.git;a=patch;h=c2419b4a4727f67af2fc2cd68b0d878b75e781bb;hp=61c4f2c81c61f73549928dfd9f3e8f26aa36a8cf for it to work. For a start, you need to enable Processor type and features -> Paravirtualized guest support -> Xen guest support''. If it is not there you might by missing some requirements like pae and acpi (http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenParavirtOps). Is it stable? I was amazed to be running a Xen 4.1.2 box in under 30 min with FC15. Only catch is no VGA console once Xen boots your Dom0 kernel - so make sure your grub menu.lst also has a non-xen boot option, incase you lose network to your host. -Gordon _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
