Why is this happening? And why is the error message so unclear? root@node1:~# xm list Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s) Domain-0 0 5656 8 r----- 123.0 root@node1:~# xm console 0 Can''t specify Domain-0 root@node1:~# _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

If you''re more familiar with vmware/vbox terms, dom0 (the one with id = 0) is the "host", while domUs (the one with ID > 0) are "guests"> root@node1:~# xm console 0 > Can''t specify Domain-0What you want to do makes no sense. "xm console" is used to access domUs console from dom0. -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

You are actually looking at it already. B. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Remember, xm is not creating a console, it''s connecting to one which the xen backend already knows about. My version of XM says this in the man page: "This uses the back end xenconsole service which currently only works for para-virtual domains."
