[Xen-users] Problem starting Windows guests: Domain unable to be unpaused: an integer is required
Hello everybody, I have a problem starting Windows (and also Linux) guests since at least 1 month so far. Every time I start my XEN dom0 (at the time when no guests are running) and I try to start a windows domU, I get the following message: # xm start windows-xp Error: Domain unable to be unpaused: an integer is required Usage: xm start <DomainName> Start a Xend managed domain -p, --paused Do not unpause domain after starting it -c, --console_autoconnect Connect to the console after the domain is created --vncviewer Connect to display via VNC after the domain is created --vncviewer-autopass Pass VNC password to viewer via stdin and -autopass I don''t understand why this happens, since I didn''t modify anything. The strange fact for me is "The domain is unable to be unpaused". Nobody paused any domain! What does it happens? This problem happens also when I try to start a Linux guest. The domain starts paused, but in this case it''s easy to restore the VM running status, since it is sufficient to do: xm unpause domain_number or wait until it unblocks by itself. Thank you, -- Flavio _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

It seems this problem disappears uninstalling virt-manager and libvirt, but I''m not able to start windows guest anyway. # xm create /mnt/vmstore/windows-xp/windows-xp.cfg Using config file "/mnt/vmstore/windows-xp/windows-xp.cfg". Error: Domain ''windows-xp'' does not exist. I know it doesn''t exist, xm list doesn''t list any window-xp domain! But I use xm create for this reason! Linux guests run very well.
